Dr. Lisa Boynes Sindass was born in Washington, D.C, of Caribbean parents, immigrants from Trinidad and Tobago. She grew up in New Jersey. Her love for medicine developed while growing up working with her father, who was Veterinarian.
She attended Howard University for her undergraduate degree in Zoology and Chemistry. Dr. Sindass obtained her Medical degree, at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She completed her Pediatric residency in Howard University Hospital, graduating in 2002. Later, she worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Montgomery General Hospital where she was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She later transitioned to General Pediatric care as a primary care doctor in Montgomery County, Prince George County, and District of Columbia providing care for patients of all walks of life and from all nations.
Dr. Sindass considers herself a Holistic Pediatrician whose focus is on holistic health and wellness, overall optimal mental health, food as medicine, prevention of obesity, primary care, and Adolescent Medicine.
Over the years, Dr. Sindass has acquired skills due to her interests in preventative medicine, alternative and integrative medicine such as Travel medicine consultant, Yoga and mindfulness teacher, and consultant, Certified Medical Cannabis Provider, TLS (Total Lifestyle) Weight management Wellness Coach, In training Fellow of the Clinical Homeopathic Medicine.
Dr. Sindass has been married since 1993 and has 1 daughter. She is continually active in the Caribbean community. She is currently a Co-Host of “CARIB NATION HEALTH” A Caribbean TV show produced in Washington, D.C. by her husband Larry Sindass. The show airs in 22 Caribbean Islands, UA, Canada, and Europe. She loves to travel, explore culture through foods, cook, stay fit, and enjoy family & friends.
